Matthew 28:1-8

The End of the Sabbath

“In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn [dusk] toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.” Matthew 28:1

The key phrase in this bible text is ‘the end of the Sabbath…‘ Even though our time has changed it does not affect what Yahweh (the Lord) calls morning nor does it annul God’s Holy and Sabbath days “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:5 Now, if you are familiar with the starting and ending of the weekly Sabbath begins at sunset and ends at sunset or dusk to dusk. The Sabbath is not governed by any clock but by the setting of the sun in which we call dusk or evening. When the western horizon becomes a golden tan color, the brightest star to appear before sunset is the planet, Venus then Jupiter. In Revelation Yeshua tells, John. “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Revelation 22:16

Yeshua’s disciples were ALL eyewitnesses of Yeshua (Jesus) Death, burial and resurrection and their accounts of what, when, where why and how these events unfolded around our Messiah were visualized in great detail, but under much prosecution they may not being able to document every detail concerning the finial hours of our Saviour’s time on earth correctly. However, they were not led by the themes we see so much today, for it is written: “For we did not follow cunningly devised FABLES when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” 2 Peter 1:16 Which leads me to this statement because Christ had to be in the grave for 72 hours so Yeshua REFERENCE His death, burial and Resurrection by echoing these words from the Prophet Jonah.

“A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:39-40

So, if Yeshua was being crucified on Passover Day on a Wednesday and place into the tomb around 4 or 5 P.M. just before the feast of Unleavened Bread which is a High Sabbath on Thursday should explain why there was a great hurry to get Him into the grave, not His grave before dusk. The High Sabbath would have begun at sunset that Wednesday evening our time this would have given the King of Kings 3 days and 3 nights needed according to the picture below to fulfill the prophecy that Christ spoken to His disciples.

Soon after the last supper Christ was handed to the authorities on Passover day after 4 or 5 am our time. Yeshua (Jesus) was taken to a different providence, to be mock and accused. Most scholars’, sects and the bible agree that Yeshua was on the cross at the 6th hour (9 A.M. our time) which would have been on Passover Day. While Yeshua (Jesus) was being judge by the people and the high priest. The reluctant Pilate tried to appease the people by having our Saviour beating and flogged. Yeshua was then sentence to death and led to skull mountain in which we call Calvary Mountain. There were no shade trees to protect the accused from the scorching sun. Nevertheless, Yahweh did not allow the heat nor the sun to scorch or burn the body of our Messiah (WHAT an ELOHIM (God) WE SEVERE) for it is written, “…darkness cover the land from the 6th hour (9 A.M.) to the ninth hour (3 P.M. our time).” Matthew 27:45; Luke 23:44,45 “They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.” Isaiah 49:10 “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.” Revelation 7:16

Our Lord was on the cross for OUR transgression for 6 hours, six being the number of man for Adam was created on the sixth day. (Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4) Six hours was the maximum time allowed by Roman crucifixions, but this process normally took 3 to 4 hours to warrant death. While Joseph, one of Yeshua’s disciples rushed to get Him down from the cross before Passover ended because of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which was a High Sabbath would have concluded the Passover Day. Remember, after the last supper, which was during the Passover on Wednesday, began at sunset Passover Eve on Tuesday at dusk.

Christ was handed to the authorities 8 hours later with three of those hours praying in the garden of Gethsemane in which His disciples could not remain woke during those early morning hours in His time of need. Afterwards, Yeshua surrenders himself unto authorities around 4 or 5 am our time on Passover morning (Wednesday morning) and during those early morning hours, He was taken to different provinces. Now it was custom for them to release a prisoner during Passover, for it is written “But you have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the Passover: will you therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?” (John 18:39; Matthew 27:15-31; Mark 15:6-20; Luke 23:13-25) Yeshua (Jesus) was led to the cross after trial Wednesday morning and by 9 A.M. our time on Wednesday morning our Saviour was on the cross during PASSOVER DAY like scripture declares.

Yahweh knew the days, laws and times would be manipulated by men customs and traditions. So, the Lord hid the work of the Lamb of God, in the Appointed feast days blinding the Jews for a while but revealing to Moses and the Prophets a shadow of things to come. Yeshua, tells us: “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.” John 5:6. Peter reminds us, “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”. 1 Peter 1:19 Paul shares with us, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us”. I Corinthians 5:7.

The word Easter (G3957) means Passover it was place in the Bible by an unclean spirit to mislead us by moving Passover Day to the First day of the week Sunday, we call it Easter Sunrise Service (worship). In order for Mary, Mary Margelene and the others to minister any works on behalf of Yeshua (Jesus) they had to wait until after Passover around dusk. Luke was Hellenistic and a physician that was very well educated he would have not used an 2nd century English word like Easter which did not exists during his penmanship to describe, the Greek word Πάσχα which means Pascha, the Hebrew word for Passover. Notice at the bottom of the above picture you will see the word, Easter. It is used one time in the whole bible when this occurs it means it has no references and references are like guiding light post, and since we all been deceived by the adversary. (Read Revelation 12:9) We must search out the light posts which are the holy patterns in scripture that Moses and the prophets laid out being under the guidance of the Spirit of Yahweh to guide us while we endure the narrow pathway of SALAVTION.

“Then He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house. And behold, at the entrance to the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east; and they were prostrating themselves eastward toward the sun.” (Ezekiel 8:16; Deuteronomy 4:19)

Could you imagine if the whole bible was written in one tongue all Hebrew or all Greek whereby, the holy patterns could have been easily broken and anyone could have claimed they were the Messiah to come. To Yahweh be the GLORY, the joy of being able to rightfully divide the word of God by separating the leaven from the unleavened. Yeshua whom we call Jesus, is the manna that came from heaven our Bread of LIFE, for it is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

Now, do not think we our limited to how we decide to worship our Saviour. If you decide to worship the Messiah on Sunday, the first day of the week. Great! Just remember it does not annul, the High Sabbath or the Sabbath day. If you want to stand on top of Stone Mountain and view the morning sunrise, go right ahead but do not tie it to Easter Sunrise Worship by swearing it to the Lamb of Yahweh, the Son of the Most High Elohim, it is written “And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 19:12; Jeremiah 5:2; Isaiah 42:8) Has not Yahweh given us the WORD to show us how to love and honor the Messiah? If we are truly faithful, are we not reflecting the Lord’s will.

Who in their right mind would want to undue the works of the Holy patterns. Lucifer, the son of the morning the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy, for it is written. “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:” (Isaiah 14:12-13; Luke 10:18)

Now, lets us look at Pentecost which is the Greek word for 50 it fell on an APPOINTED High Sabbath called Shavuot or the Feast of Weeks which Yahweh commanded Moses. It is a Holy Day that comes 50 days or 7 weeks after Passover, and it must fall on a Sunday the 1st day of the week. WHY? Because it is WRITTEN. Now, Pentecost is celebrated by both Jews, Messianic Jews and Christians alike and since there was a great cloud of witnesses to hear and see this event playout. This is also a shadow of things to come in our day pointing to the gathering of the harvest or first fruits. It is in this oneness that we should get a clearer picture when Christ came out of the tomb a little before sunset. But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept.” 1 Corinthians 15:20; Acts 26:23; 1 Peter 1:3

Count Days from Date link go here and place 50 days from April 9, 2023 which is on a Sunday would put Pentecost on Monday the 2nd day of the week.

The disciples already knew that Shavuot was 50 days after Passover, but what they did not know was that the power of Yahweh was about to rain down upon them the ability to do mighty works. Now you know when Passover Sabbath ends on the 8th and according to the Day Count Chart above. (50) days later will be a High Sabbath which will be on Sunday the 28thday of 2023, the 1st day of the week. A day of Holy Convocation that was established by Yahweh in the wilderness before Israel ever became a nation of people. So, if you can honor one Holy day why not honor all of Yahweh’s Holy convocations being followers of Yeshua (Jesus), the Lord of Sabbaths. “And he said unto them, the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath; therefore, the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. -Mark 2:27-28

This may be hard for some to grapple, but it is hard to kick against the prick of Yahweh’s word. It is the flesh you fight against that is at odd with the spirit. However, when all else fails we have a ‘constant‘ reminder in the Holy Spirit that has no variableness to change the word of Yahweh (the Lord), a guiding light post to warn us when we are being led away to become snared in the miry clay of life. That is, the Spirit of Yahweh willing to help us overcome in His truth and not of our own understanding, for it is written. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32; Romans 8:2

Get up dry bones allow the word of the Lord to prophesy into your life get ready CHRUCH to walk in the will of Yahweh but this can only happen by following the Unleavened Bread of His word, for it is written, “…the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost [Spirit], whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26; Luke 24:49; John 15:26

REPENT! SEEK THE LORD WHY HE MAY BE FOUND

Shalom (Peace)
