“Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away. When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed. King David said, Terry at Jericho until your breads be grown, and then return.” (1 Chronicles 19:4-5)
While standing in the path of the Lord’s narrow way you will face problems with the adversary and since Satan does not love anyone of us, he continues to offer us temporary pleasures to keep us from becoming Chirst-consicous. So, Satan checks his worldly traps daily to see has anyone recovered themselves from his will, for it is written:
“And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” (2 Timothy 2:26)
Before Yeshua (Jesus) redeemed us, we were all like slaves once sin conscious in debt to Satan, the lien holder of our souls eternally separated from the Lord. The adversary cannot allow others to see that you have decided to die to yourself in order to know, they self. Knowing yourself is being able to understand and walk in the full measure of your personhood.
Chronos and Kairos
Yeshua (Jesus) walked in both Chronos and Kairos we ourselves structure our whole livelihood around the tick of the clock knowingly and unknowingly. Many have even put their faith in the practice of holidays which follows Chronos while on the other hand Yahweh’s Holy Days (High Sabbaths or Feast Days) are appointed days which follows Kairos and are not held under the confinements of a perpetual day on a calendar.
Understanding Chronos and Kronos is the beginning of ‘knowing thyself‘ it is likened to metamorphosis being transformed from immaturity to maturity, but within the stages of metamorphosis you are still, but are growing at the same time. David tells his men “…until your beards be grown”. None of these men knew the appointed times it would take for their beards to grow. Kairos is the appointed time or time that reflects season, opportunity or a perfect work the flesh has no control over this “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers’ temptations, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:2-8)
Tarry means to wait or to be still; therefore, Chronos is knowing what time to be still or watchful. (Read Ephesians 5:15-17)
Three biblical examples of Chronos which indicates exact time:
- And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? -Luke 7:19
- And he cometh unto the disciples, and finds them asleep, and saith unto Peter, what, could ye not watch with Me one hour? -Matthew 26:40
- “Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come.” -Mark 13:33
Three biblical examples of Kairos which indicates appointed seasons:
- “And the Lord said, who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?” -Luke 12:42
- “Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.”-Matthew 24:45
- “Therefore, Jesus told them, “Although your time is always at hand, My time has not yet come. -John 2:4
Christ-Conscious
When the builders or the sons of Yahweh came before the throne of heaven. Satan was right there along with them Yahweh asks him, “from where do you come.” Satan replies, from going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” (Read Job 1:7) When to and fro is use as an adverb it means one place to another. Peter warns the elders who should be experienced “to be sober and vigilant (watchful), your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
The adversary’s duty is to promote restlessness Satan has nothing else to do but steal, kill and destroy your Chronos because his Kairos is running thin. As seen in the book of Job his very nature is a snare unto the children of God. Yeshua tells Peter, “Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savor not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” (Matthew 16:23) That is the will of the adversary to, “call evil good and good evil…” (Read Isaiah 5:20) by entrapping you in time wasting snares of gossip, false accusations or mockery and witchcraft. All this vain work is because you have entered into the narrow way and are no longer sin-conscious, but Christ-conscious.
David was Christ-conscious he greatly desired to do good; therefore, he sent forth his condolence before Hanun by the hand of his servants to comfort him in his time of great loss. Hanun’s father Nahash has died, and David remembered his kindness towards him, so David sends his servants into the land of Ammon to comfort the new king. (Read 2 Samuel 10:2; 1 Chronicles 19:2) When David servants arrived Hanun princes began to promote false accusations against David’s name by accusing his ambassadors of spying on the children of Ammon who are the descendants of Abraham’s cousin Lot upon their arrival. “And, the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, think thou that Davis does honor thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? Has not David weather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?” (2 Samuel 10:3)
Hanun’s princes became filled with restlessness they became overly suspicious of David’s intentions and their spirit-man began moving to and fro. I can imagine that they could not sleep, could not eat and move forward in their carnal minds until they fulfilled the lust of their flesh to gain control of over the matter with minds bent around their own malicious will to cause harm; therefore, their eyes were dark and could not see David’s goodwill. This spiritual blindness caused Hanun’s princes to begin planting tares into their king’s heart to do will of the adversary. How often has someone whispered or spread rumors to get in front of your goodwill intentions?
FORGIVE ME LORD
“Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away” (1Chronicles 19:4; 2Samuel 10:4)
David’s servants showed an exemplary restraint they stood there Christ-like an excepted their mockery and walk of shame back to Jericho. Isaiah shares, a messianic prophecy giving us a vivid description in how Christ, our Messiah stood up for the battle of our souls. “I gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.” (Isaiah 50:6; Matthew 27:27-31; Mark 15:19; Luke 22:63-65; John 19:1-15) David’s men became separated and could not go before the temple of Yahweh to worship. Hanun must have known how important their worship was to Yahweh. Because Hanun attacked their appearance to attack their Elohim (God) not only was it an assault on David’s men it was a greater evil against the King. Inhale and exhale for a moment remove all earthly matter from your minds and pray to the Lord. FORGIVE ME LORD, FOR MY SINS! I BELIEIVED YOU DIED FOR ME; we all played a role in crucifying the King of Kings.
The Beard
When David’s servants return home from their walk of shame David sympathetically beheld them and required them to remain at Jericho:
“Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.” (2 Samuel 10:5)
Beards do not carry the same symbolic meaning of our day especially since Yeshua was the last High Preist and just as his atoning blood was scatter across all nation it is a seal unto all people have had an opportunity to hear the gospel of good. Adam, an Edomite was the first man of righteousness unto Yahweh it is evident God taught him the pattern of the priesthood and how to approach the king of King. (Read Leviticus 21:5-6)
The significance of the beard would have dated back to the antediluvian period (pre-flood) and carried over to Noah and his three sons Shem, Ham and Japheth. However, men permissive will eventually takes them further and further from the presence of the Lord, as the more they walk contrary to God’s precepts. Shem and Japheth understood the process of Torah in their case the verbal code. So, they walked in backwards and covered their father’s nakedness remember the written code was passed down verbally to house to house by Adam. So, they knew when one uncovered their father’s nakedness in Hebrew it meant to see the nakedness of your mother. (Read Leviticus 18:7-17)
So, now we see the spiritual birth order being reshaped when Shem and Japheth walks in backwards to cover up their father’s nakedness, this very well could be pointing to the Torah, the mother of our faith in Yeshua, because it will be the descendants of Shem and Japheth that will pass down house to house the Old and New Testament writings and many great books on subject matter concerning the Word of Yahweh. (Read Genesis 9:23)
Israelites law would not allow them to fashion arts and crafts in their likenesses, but we can find artwork from other Semitic speaking cultures where they made monuments of figures, and wall inscriptions of bearded men. These descendants of Ham brought a great deal of knowledgeable wealth to every nation that set foot into their land. Daniel’s writes a vision concerning Babylon in which represented the gold empire or the first kingdoms of the ancient worlds, the descendants of Ham. “The first was like a lion and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.” This vision shows us that the descendants of Ham would REPENT.
Artworks of bearded men were found in Asia minor, Egypt and Mesopotamia these artworks came from the (Sumer), Egyptians, Canaanites, Babylonians, Assyrians, and other Middle Eastern lands. Egyptians Pharaohs wore handmade beards but custom and law required all men to be shaven/naked. In 2012, the Washington Post ran an article call ‘In the new Egypt, beards appear where they once banned.’ We can also find in the book of Genesis Joseph could come before pharaoh, he had to be shaven before he went into his courts. Joseph went from being a Hebrew (nomadic) prisoner to Egyptians. (Read Genesis 41:14).
Hold Fast
Jericho was a natural oasis where freshwater springs supplied all their botanical needs with bountiful palm trees, fruit trees and spices. It was indeed a place of milk and honey which carried that a name that meant fragrant. Jericho would have been an ideal place for any men or women retreat of our day. When David asked the men to tarry at Jericho until their beards return at the ‘City of Palms.’ We must understand its metaphor.
Palms Trees points to an idiom which means to ‘hold fast’ even thou David’s ambassadors were greatly ashamed of the assault taken upon them they had to hold onto their faith liken to a palm tree not being uprooted during a hurricane. Christ remains us that his faith is unyielding, thereby, we should have unwavering trust in Him, when we are mocked and spit upon, it is written: “Love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44)
Why Canaan?
“Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.” (Genesis 12:7) Both Abraham, Issacs and Jacob were nomadic people called Hebrews (wanders) in the land of Canaan, so livestock would have been their main source of barter and trade. (Read Genesis 46:6) When famine hit the land of Canaan Abram at the time and Jacob during his time both went into Egypt. When the Israelite left out of Egypt and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. By the time of Joshua’s conquest into Jericho the original occupiers of the Land of Canaan were nowhere to be found. Where is the new Egypt today? (Read Deuteronomy 28:68) Canaan, the son of Ham was the grandson of Noah. Canaan was the father of the Ancient Canaanite people the name Canaan means merchant or traffickers. Canaan also was heavily populated by neighboring nations as far away as Greece. “…for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.” (Jeremiah 47:4) It was the ancients Greeks who named the land of Canaan, Philistine.
Canaan was cursed to be a servant of servants it was he not his father Ham that lost his birthright. The ministry good or bad follows the mother side of the family. Sarah, Rebekah, Leah, Rachael Rhad, Ruth, Ester, Hanna, Elizbeth, Mary and etc., (A list of the bible top ten wicked women) The blessings and curses followed the men side we see this when Jacob gives out the blessings and cursing amongst his 12 sons and two adopted sons Ephraim (USA, Europe) and Manasseh (UK, Esau, Dukes). (Read Genesis 48-49)
Swap Birth Orders
Canaan lost his birthrights according to the actions of his father this went on all thru the bible with different patriarchs as well. Solomon, mother was being deceived by a son of David who wanted to take the throne by marrying one of David concubine, but Solomon was to wise for it and rebukes his mother. Parents and grandparents like Jacob today swap birth orders it may seem personal in some cases, but it does happen. Judah was the fourth born but he received the Scepter because Reuben defiled his father’s bed, Simeon and Levi use the law in self-will and brought disgrace upon the household of Jacob.
Manasseh and Ephraim birth order were crossed. Joseph was displeased but if he wanted them to receive the covering of Israel blessings Jacob who is the father of Israel had to spiritually adopted them for they were born of an Egyptian mother.
The Whole World
When the children of Israel were besieged by the Babylonians, Persians, Greek and later Rome due to continue idolatry were taken captive and many were scattered aboard. Before the cross, Yeshua (Jesus) tells His disciples to go only unto the lost sheep of Israel; after the cross, he share with them the great commission to His disciples saying, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost [Spirit]: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
When the adversary desires to scatter your name in the wind do not do anything but pray, wait and trust in Yahweh’s unyielding word, for we must know it rains on the just as well as the unjust, but woe unto them by which the rains come. During Pentecost the moving of the Holy Spirit restored every tongue of every Jew that was scattered in every nation under heaven. Why? Because our savior is the greatest salesman in the world, he did not have to use any fear-of-loss tactics to redeem us from the gate of hell. When the Great Shepard was spiked, the sheep scattered. It was free advertisement when the enemy prosecuted the church it scatters them but most important it scattered the name of Yeshua whom we call Jesus into the whole world. (Read Acts 2:5-12)
Came Home Naked
Greco-Rome allowed the Jews to worship without much complaint, but they could not enter into Rome’s gymnasium unless they reverse their circumcision (rejected Torah), and not be under the law of married (Messianic or Christian Jew) Why? Nudity was the religion of Greco-Rome, and their gyms were their temples and inside of them every kind of sexual immorality could be displayed within them. This practice can be found in the Book of Maccabees in the KJV with Apocrypha books. When Antiochus Epiphanes polluted the temple by building a gym beside the temple in Jerusalem. It is this same practice going on today.
“So they built a gymnasium in Jerusalem, according to Gentile custom, and removed the marks of circumcision, and abandoned the holy covenant. They joined with the Gentiles and sold themselves to do evil.” (1 Maccabees 1:11–15).
According to Wikipedia: Gymnasium is derived from the Ancient Greek term gymnós, meaning “naked” or “nude”. Only adult male citizens were allowed to use the gymnasia. Athletes competed nude, a practice which was said to encourage aesthetic appreciation of the male body, and to be a tribute to the gods. The etymology of nudity worship dates back beyond Babylon where temple priestess or priest worshippers would perform lude acts to encouraging their gods of heaven for agriculture related needs. (Ancient Gymnasium)
When the ambassadors came home naked their buttocks were exposed and by keeping half their beards uncut it made them to appear before the eyes of their neighbors as if they rejected their God. While on the other hand their garments or robes are different altogether and carry the same meaning of spiritual covering but unlike the beards, they could have easily replaced the robes.
Hanun’s Curse
In Africa, Middle East, and etc., both men and women wore robes with undergarments; and David’s officials most likely wore a sto-le’ robe that would have reach down to the top of their feet. The prodigal son received this best-type robe when he returned back unto his father’s house. (Luke 15:22) Jesus rebukes the pharisees who desire to waltz around before the public in long robe (Mark 12:38).
The Sto-le’ robe would have covered the whole body especially the scared Y area (private parts). Hanun cuts and opening in their robe to where their buttocks were exposed now David’s men are now in complete violation of their Elohim (God). How often have we seen men and women alike publicly exposing a portion if not all their buttocks publicly? This so call trend is not a trend at all it is a curse, an Hanun’s curse just think about it. Pants down buttocks with underwear showing has been going on for three decades now, for this is a great shame especially unto them who are unaware they are the Lord’s anointed.
The Adversary
“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” (Jeremiah 1:8) David’s ambassadors were leaders and if you are not leading you cannot get kicked in the but, this is what Hanun did because he desired to be in front of Yahweh’s grace by kicking David’s men in the buttocks. The transliteration of Ha-nun with the prefix Ha means the adversary only because Ha is joined to the Hebrew word nun. And, since the word nun has serval different meanings its placement as a compound word is very important. Its placement was at the end so in this case its meaning is love. Hanun was the adversary of love.
Love thy enemy are the words of Yeshua (Jesus) David’s men understood the significance of ‘know thyself.’ because they knew their King, ambassadors of David. These men and all those who walk today with the tidings of good things of the good news their feet are described as beautiful for it is written,
“How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Roman 10:15)
And the words of our savoir: And when ye come into a house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. (Matthew 10:12-15)
The More Abundant
You are the temple by which gives thanksgiving unto the Kings of Kings, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is the old man in the flesh, that desires you to remain unconscious of the cross. the Adversary that rides your back that makes you live a bent over lifestyle as believers. Believers who have lost their first love while carrying their cross. Believers who have been weight down by the trails of life. and it is the same man that continues its war against the more abundant.
Yahweh loves order the God of heaven and earth created it that way, but you have allowed sin-consciousness to enter into your home. It is like a child who lines blocks, cars or dolls and other toys neatly together, then another child comes out of the blue and rearranges or knocks what that other child has done down all together to cause dysfunctionality during their Chronos.
Satan came before the assembly and Yahweh with accusation to knock down the Job’s blessings. He told Yahweh, why should Job curse you in all your good tithes. The Book of Job predates the Book of Genesis and as Yahweh allowed Job to be touched. This is the same with the church today your house, your body, your temple which should be the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. When Job was possessed by the adversary it became an argument between Yahweh, Lucifer and the three friends who represented a 3rd of heaven’s falling angles.
the Adversary says, “Oh, that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!” (Job 19:23). We can see this in the Book of Genesis where Eve accepted the fruits of good and evil. Adam was given one wife and Cain’s descendant Lamech desired two. The reason, we have choices and can walk in a permissive will society today is because Satan has been giving an appointed time to deceive as many nations as possible. Satan was cast out before you to cause entanglement ‘of thyself,’ and as many as possible to lust after their own conceit. We ought not to walk shamefully before Yahweh by denouncing the love that was bestowed upon us at the cross. Why? (Read Revelation 12:9)
