“You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us? And they cast him out.” (John 9:33)
Here we have a man who was born blind and Yeshua’ disciples thought this to be an affliction of a past family sin. However, Yeshua (Jesus) tells his disciples that this man’s blindness is not an act of anyone past sin, but a gift from God, by which God would be manifest in him. As Yeshua anoints the blind man’s eyes, he also opens the heart and mind, of his disciples who were spiritually blind in the attributes of Yahweh’s (the Lord) kingdom. And, when his neighbors witness him seeing they could not get passed the stumbling blocks of their own disbelief.
Even at this very hour God’s compassion still shines over all who have blemishes, and according to the Holy Scriptures— the mercy of God still endures forever. “Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear the God: I am the Lord.” “Ye shall not therefore oppress one another, but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:14-15; 25:17) When we walk in a state of mind that lives solely off fleshly glory it is easy to be overcome with partiality, because everything one evaluates is led by their own fleshly experiences; and our experiences are not infinite. The religious leaders were spiritually blind they judge the outwardness of everything and every divisive communication that support their irrational decisions. “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.” The New Living Translation explains: “They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.” (2 Timothy 3:5)
When Rehab the Canaanite prostitute, who would soon become the mother of Boaz hid two spies in the city of Jerico, she said, “And as soon as we heard it, hour hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.” (Joshua 2) Is it not said that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God, and when Rahab told the spies what they have heard concerning the children of the living God. She said, “their hearts melted, and there was no more spirit left in any man.” What was that spirit that melted away? It could not have been the spirit of God? What spirit did the Pharisees have that cause their eyes to become blinded by truth?
When some of Pharisees decided to kidnap the Torah they traded the Lord’s power, for the power of self-glory their blindness caused them to be ensnared by Satan. What is the Lord’s power? The power of the Holy Spirit which only moves and lives in the will of the Father, for it is written: “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.” (Proverbs 8) The Pharisees did not understand this power because they made themselves gods before men. When the Pharisees (taskmasters) had their chance in questioning the blindman they themselves became blind as if they were standing before the walls of Jerico. While they harbored an evil heart which made them respect of persons it segregated their hearts from the flowing rivers of God’s grace and mercy. Moreover, the flood gates in their hearts were broken when it came to hearing the blindman testimony concerning Yeshua (Jesus). But it remained open enough to continue to allow the flood of deception, to pour out their mouths against the broken hearted and the poor in spirit: (Read Ezekiel 34: 1-4)
Being of age the blind man’s parents opt-out in defending their son’s cause, because word was going around. “…the Jews (Chief rulers) had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was the Christ (Messiah), he should be put out of the synagogue. Therefore, said his parents, He is of age; ask him.” They did acknowledge that he was their son and was born blind, but they could not answer the question why their son is now able to see. No one can look at your outwardness and determine if you are saved or unsaved. We learn from the unlearned man when the taskmaster, those who are busybodies about nothing asks the man who was once blind. “How did he receive sight from a sinner?” “He answered and said, whether he be a sinner or not, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25)
In middle school when examining any events or situations we ask five interrogative words they are: who, what, when where and why. There is a great need to ask oneself those questions today just as there were false accusers like Satan since the beginning of time, to the coming of Yeshua (Jesus) on earth, they are still here today. Children of the adversary young and old alike spewing out floods of deception. Christ tells the Pharisees,
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. …When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44)
Timothy writes in the last days many will be, “Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good…,” (2 Timothy 3:3) This is what we see on social media daily false accusers that cannot give you one statement from a third party in which they are accusing to their cult-like followings. If it is true. Why then is it a secret? For it is written, “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ephesians 12:14; Mark 4:22) We are in a land where people have the right to protest the voice of the unborn. How much so, do a person(s) have the right to publicly challenge false accusers by the same weight, if they are of age, ASK THEM.
Many of the Chief rulers became a stumbling block before the blind and could not get out of the domino line. Get out before that great day comes to avoid the reaction known as the domino effect. Yeshua explains it this way, “… they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” (Matthew 15:14) When the Pharisees were not satisfied with what they were hearing from the blindman’s parents they reinvestigated the matter. This was not the case with Rahab, she tells the spies about their God by proclaimed the name Yahweh is your Elohim (the Lord is thy God), the Elohim (God) of heaven and earth. However, the Pharisees in their unbelief could not see the miraculous miracle that Yeshua entreated to the blindman.
“Then said they to him again, what did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? Then they reviled him, and said, thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spoke unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is. The man answered and said unto them, why herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man was not of God; he could do nothing.” (John 9:24-33)
The healed blind man did not hold back his joy in the Lord. He responded to the questioning of who, what, when where and why. It was, if his prior blindness did not interfere with how open his spiritual eyes were to the knowledge and the understanding of truth. Being previously blind he was already cast out of the temple, and they tried to castaway his testimony. Our testimonies remines us of our joy in His word and the regeneration of our hope in Christ. Stand firm because many have started out in the spirit but know are boasting in the flesh as if they never ran and fell upon their knees before the seat of mercy, for it is written. “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” (Galatians 3:3)
The blindman’s parents had to know at some point in time that secondary education may not be reachable for everyone, but knowledge of God is a gate to understanding that hearing the Lord’s Word is imperative. Nevertheless, they feared being put out of the synagogue and not being able to listen to the marvelous word of God, this was also with the chief rulers. “Many chief rulers believed on the Messiah but did not confess him in fear of being excommunicated, too.” (John 12:42) It was something about dropping everything and hearing the word of the Lord. “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.” (Acts 13:42)
The evil acts of the Pharisees who were of the provinces of Judea could see the Torah (law) the first five books of the Hebrew bible. However, they were blinded to the light of the Tanakh, the prophets and testimonies in which prophetically declared the only begotten son of God before all of Israel was to come. When the scales had falling off Saul of Tarsus eyes, he was given the nickname Paul because of his very small stature. Likewise, the Jews who were once blinded by grace and mercy are becoming Messianic Believers. Paul writes not as a Jew but now as a Messianic Jewish Believer, “I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.” Romans 11:1
King Solomon writes while being in the spirit of the Lord in a book we call the Old Testament. Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, If you know? (Proverbs 30:4)
The Tribe of Judah is Yahweh’s chosen, when you are chosen by the Father it is liken unto being the oldest brother that is in charge of the household until your parent(s) return. You now have become the light of that household. This is the same with the household of Jacob there was only one who received the right to carry the eternal flame of salvation that was Judah. (Genesis 49:8-12) They were to be a light unto there household and all nations concerning the plans of Yahweh.
When the parent(s) of the oldest returns home and find that the house is out of order. The light holder is held accountable for the transgression that has taken place while the parent(s) were away. No wonder the Lord allowed the households of Israel to be led away captive before the whole world to see after they lusted after the gods of other nations. Christ is gone on a long journey, too he has left us in charge of our own temples and when he returns would we have learned from the examples of our big brother?
Nevertheless, the household of Jacob will never be destroyed from the face of the earth because of God’s everlasting promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When Israel turns away of the Lord’s will and chased the idols of other nations. Israel became enslave or scattered abroad, why? Yahweh holds the light bearer to a higher esteem to be an example to all nations. Christ was the perfect lamb of God, he could have thrown in the towel, for it is written: Not my will, but thy will be done.
Now, whosoever touches the apple of God’s eye it will always turn out to be a sad thing, as it is written: For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that touched you touched the apple of his eye. (Zechariah 2:8) When Judah and all her inhabitants cries out unto the living God and repent of their sins, the Lord moves swiftly upon their enemies.
History has shown us wherever God’s children are resting the land flourishes, but whenever they are forcedly removed or prosecuted that whole region becomes desolated. Do not be bewitched for Yeshua tells his disciple they will sit upon the throne after the regeneration to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. (Read Matthew 19:28) The angel of the Lord shows John a warning, “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie…” Revelation 3:9; 2:9
When the time was at hand to listen to the Messiah the Pharisees ears became dumb filled with the blockage of indignation due to one sinner’s testimony about the power of God. “They answered and said unto him, thou were altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.” (John 9:34) Now the truth of God’s words ripped the religious themes right out of them. The Pharisees became verbally abusive towards the once blind man. What really made them abusive? Was it because he was a sinner, or they assume he was uneducated in the things concerning God? Now, that some of the Pharisees’ eyes were open to truth. Yeshua (Jesus), shares with them if their eyes were not open it is because they were still spiritually blind. But since they were awakened to their guilty conscious they must repent because they can see.
The Pharisees had everything going for them they owned the whole scheme of the game. But they cried foul play when their eyes seen the power of God manifested through one man who they believed was blind because of sin. When God turns the table against your accusers, they will cry foul play they do not realized they are being entertained by demons. You cannot fornicate with demons and not expect Satan the host of the party not to show up to your front door. Yahweh tells Cain, when you do good it is accepted, when you do evil Satan stands at the door you must overcome darkness by faith by hearing the word of God. (Read Genesis 4:7)
Rahab the prostitute realized when she saw the two spies walking up to the walls of Jerico. She knew they worshipped a Living God. Unlike the Pharisees she did not hide her prostitution, we are all like Rahab that have prostituted ourselves with the false gods of this world. We were made new by the blood of Christ and sanctified by the gospel our faith must become like Rahab. It may not make since right now, but she did believe in the results, for it is written, “…God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” (1 Corinthians 1:27)
